Diaper Cakes by Wendy - Custom Baby Shower Gifts and Favors
If you take a look around the internet, there are actually many companies and sellers making these baby shower favors. What makes mine better? Below I have revealed all details about the cakes and the favors, unlike some sellers!

Well, 99% of those other sellers use very cheap washcloths. These 'baby washcloths' are very cheaply made, thin, and fall apart easily. They are simply small pieces of cloth. My washcloths are of very high quality, they are nine inches by nine inches, compared to their five and a half by five and a half inches. Also, their washcloths only come in solids, while I have both solids and adorable prints available! I never send out an entire order of solids unless it is specifically requested that way. So, compared to those (who charge more!), I will let you decide who is the better choice. I have taken a comparison picture of two of my washcloths and one of 'theirs' below.

What about the diaper cakes you say? Well, first let's look at the brands used. Most sellers of diaper cakes use Parent's Choice brand diapers. This is the Wal-Mart brand of diapers. I have two children, and I did try these on both of my children. I can tell you from experience that they leaked horribly on both my boy and my girl, and they made them smell funny.

Many people like to think Pampers Swaddlers are the best choice for babies simply because they are the brand hospitals use. To be honest, I don't like them much because they get too puffy when only a little wet and leave gel on your baby's bottom.

I use Luvs on my diaper cakes, cupcakes, wreaths, and anything else made from diapers. If you do a little research, you will find that Luvs and Pampers are both made by the same company, PG, and that Luvs and Pampers Baby Dry are actually the exact same diaper. Pampers Baby Dry diapers have print all over them, therefore they do not make a good choice for cakes, while Luvs only have the design on the front velcro-type strip. The rest of the diaper is white, therefore your cakes are white, looking much nicer. I use Luvs on my daughter religiously, and I used them on my son as well. I would NEVER use anything on my creations that I would not use on my own children.

I use a size 1, which fits babies from 8-14 pounds, because as most of us know, some babies are born too big for the newborn size! (My daughter was, she weighed 8lbs 9oz at birth!)

Even if you do not think Luvs is a good choice, I can help! Just send me an email and let me know what brand you would like me to use!

And what they say is true, you live and learn, then get Luvs!

One more thing to note - if you take a look around at the amount of diapers used in cakes, you will find many sellers have about 20-25 diapers in their two tiered cakes, and about 40 in their three tiered cakes. My two tiered cakes have more than 60 diapers in them, and my three tiered cakes have about 70!! So, not only is the price better here, but you get more diapers too! Every diaper is usable for the new baby, and every cake is a boutique spiral style cake! The rolled "candle style" cakes are very hard for the Mom to use, as she will have to unroll every individual diaper before using it and then it will hold it's shape as a roll after she takes it apart. My cakes are the spiral style, all she has to do is remove the ribbon and every diaper is right there, neatly stacked ready for use! The inside of the diapers are never touched and they are handled carefully during the "cake baking" process! Every cake is made to order, ensuring you get a nice fresh cake, not a dust covered one that has been sitting somewhere for a while.
